Renewable energy in the forest.
Sveaskog develops the forest's various values. This is partly to increase the revenue provided by our forest holdings, and partly to contribute the Sweden's national environmental goal. This is why we are promoting the expansion of wind power in forest landscapes. We do this primarily by leasing land to energy companies.
As the largest forest owner in the country, with 15% of the productive forest land, Sveaskog owns many areas with good conditions for wind power.
We are aware of the fact that the expansion of wind power on our land can clash with other values, such as biological diversity and outdoor pursuits. It is important for us to find a good balance between these areas of interest. To help us with this, we have turned to guidelines for conservation of nature when establishing wind power.
