Certification

A sustainable timber business always starts in the forest.

People care about the environment. They care about climate change and the illegal felling of forests. People want to know where the wood in the products they buy comes from. They demand sustainable forestry and a sustainable timber trade.

Consequently, good timber business has to start in the forest, with responsible forestry. All our own forests are FSC® certified. This is an assurance that Sveaskog carries out responsible forestry. When we fell trees for customers, on their land, we also apply the FSC standard. When we import, we make the same demands; the wood must be certified.

FSC's traceability certification enables the origins of wood products to be traced. This helps consumers and companies to make responsible purchases. The certification is called the chain of custody (CoC). With Sveaskog's CoC certification our customers can rest assured that their customers, in turn, get what they ask for. Responsible practice marks the entire production chain, and results in a competitive advantage on the timber market.
