Wind power

As the owner of 15 per cent of Sweden's forest land, Sveaskog can provide many suitable sites for wind power plants. We wish to actively promote the establishment of wind power in cooperation with project engineers and energy companies.

At present there are 150 established and several hundred planned wind power plants on our land. And new inquiries come in continually concerning the projecting of wind power plants on our land all over the country.

The large amount of interest shown by the market leads us to believe that wind power on Sveaskog's land could generate 4 TWh of electricity per year by 2020, which corresponds to 20 % of the Swedish Energy Agency's goal for land based wind power.

Projecting and establishment agreements

Our usufruct agreements for projecting and permit applications are usually allocated for periods of 3-5 years. Usufruct premiums are market steered and based on the size of the area concerned. In cases where project engineers fail to find an area of land warranting further investigation, we cancel the agreement. If you wish to establish a plant and have acquired all the permits, we sign a long term lease agreement. We reach agreement on the framework and conditions for long term leasing when we sign the usufruct agreement.
