Production forests are where we run our forestry operations. We take nature into consideration when felling by, for example, leaving groups of trees, dead and old trees. The awareness we show today creates the all important future living environments for biological diversity. They become key landscapes. This consideration also provides present day species with a good living environment.
Extreme consequences
We have about 2.8 million hectares of production forest. This is 85% of our productive forest land. Since the area of production forest is so vast, the ecological effects of our nature conservation measures are extreme.
Consideration in production forests allows different species to propagate and spread between nature reserves, key biotopes and eco-parks. On average, consideration for nature in production forest shall amount to 9%. This totals 250,000 hectares of conservation land.

Our forest is FSC® certified. This means that we apply the Swedish FSC forest standard. Controlling bodies ensure that we fulfil the requirements. We also welcome your points of view on this.
