Water conservation

Decor picture

We are one of Sweden's largest owners of water.

One of our environmental goals is to protect and nurture water eco-systems in lakes and wetlands. The interaction between forest and water environments is important. Everything that lives in the forest, both water and land based plants and animals, need water in the right quantity and of the right quality.

For us, there are many aspects to water conservation, which are primarily based on thorough planning of consideration for water environments. This involves a broad spectrum from planning forestry measures to protecting the existing and creating new wetlands.

We are continually increasing our knowledge of water, and have several educational projects and research projects underway on our land. Most of them are run in cooperation with various working partners. We participate in both national and international water projects.

Ask us about water conservation in the forest! We are only too glad to tell you about how we are recreating water environments through the 100 Wetlands project, or providing drinking water for elk and other wildlife. We also have, of course, our fish breeding and such types of water conservation, in which we, for example, re-establish fish migration paths and improve the spawning grounds for salmon trout.
