Leases are arranged under market conditions and are controlled through agreements with Sveaskog. Each business arrangement is long term and based on sustainable, businesslike enterprise. At present we have signed agreements with just over a hundred companies* working within eco tourism in Sweden, and we are always on the lookout for opportunities to increase this number.
As Sweden's largest forest owner, Sveaskog is a substantial player within the eco tourism industry. We work actively to make land and water available for private tourism entrepreneurs. We also work together with other entities on important issues and the development of the industry: ETOUR (European Tourism Research Institute), the Swedish Eco Tourism Society/Nature's best, LRF (Federation of Swedish Farmers) and Hushållningssällskapet.
Our goal of developing operations within eco-tourism and increasing employment and growth in rural districts has led us to adopt the policy of being an active land owner. Through signing an agreement with us, our company customers become part of a network of Swedish companies. At present we have five networks throughout the country, which meet at least once a year. In addition to our company meetings, dialogue with the companies takes place via news letters, training course offers, marketing and development work and free Inatur membership.
