National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act

The right of access to private land legislation in Sweden is something unique. Nowhere else in the world can you move about in the countryside as freely as in Sweden.

In order for ours and coming generations to be able to take advantage of this freedom, we need to act responsibly. There are only a small number of self-evident regulations to remember and follow. The general principle is to leave no trace behind you. You must not injure animals or damage vegetation, disturb animals or people or damage other people's property. It is mainly a question of normal courtesy, awareness and consideration.
