The parties have signed a new agreement that extends to 2012. The collaboration will contribute to more people in Sweden being able to do the biathlon. With a portable facility and airguns, it will be possible to do the biathlon at several locations and it will make it easier to recruit young people to the sport.
"The cooperation with the Swedish Biathlon Federation offers Sveaskog many good opportunities for meetings and events together with our business partners. Together with the Federation, we are putting together different schemes that we think our customers will appreciate. There is a natural connection between the forest, nature and rifle shooting," says Patric Selin, Marketing Manager at Sveaskog.
The new agreement between Sveaskog and the Swedish Biathlon Federation is valid until 2012. The aim of the collaboration is to develop the Federation's activities. A joint project with portable biathlon facilities with airguns will help the Swedish Biathlon Federation to reach the goal of bringing the number of active enthusiasts up to 1,000 persons in the years 2013-2014.
"Our cooperation project with Sveaskog solves many critical needs. A portable biathlon facility with airguns is cheaper, easier and more environmentally friendly than a regular facility. As the sport has expanded, one obstacle has been that ski runs and shooting facilities are seldom located in the same place. But now, the biathlon sport can be exercised practically anywhere with a safety fitting, which makes it easier for us to recruit more young people and people who want practice the sport," says Håkan Blidberg, Marketing Manager at the Swedish Biathlon Federation.
