New organisation will strengthen customer focus

Press release | 1/19/2012

Sveaskog is introducing a new organisation during the first quarter of 2012 where business activities will be divided into three geographical market areas and one business area. One goal is to strengthen customer focus and develop co-operation with customers. A new Group Management will be in place on 19 January.

P-O-Wedin“Sveaskog wants to be the first choice for our business partners and works continuously to develop the business and offering. In the new organisation we are decentralising business and profit responsibility. This will create conditions for more effective working methods and a greater focus on the customer throughout the chain from forest to industry. Quite simply, we want to get closer to our customers and partners,” says PO Wedin, President & CEO of Sveaskog.

Sveaskog’s business activities, with sales of timber and biofuel, production, logistics and forest management, will be organised in three geographical market areas. These are allocated on the basis of Sveaskog’s forest assets, customer structure and trade flows.

The three market areas are:

  • North which includes Norrbotten, Västerbotten, as well as the northern part of Jämtland and Västernorrland (mainly north of the E14).
  • Central which includes Jämtland and Västernorrland, Gävleborg, Dalarna, Värmland, Västmanland, Uppsala, Stockholm, Södermanland as well as parts of Östergötland and Västra Götaland (the border with South goes along the Göta Canal).
  • South which includes parts of Östergötland and Västra Götaland as well as Jönköping, Kronoberg, Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne and Halland.

The principal locations for the market area offices will be Piteå, Örebro and Växjö. Sveaskog’s leasing activities, land transactions and property administration will be organised in a single business area, Properties. Most of the services in this business area will located close to land holdings and customers.

“The new organisation represents a more effective way of working. It will not change Sveaskog’s goals and strategic direction with regard to forest management and nature conservation, or the development of new business based on our raw material and forest land,” says Wedin.

The composition of Sveaskog’s Group Management will change as a result of the new organisation. The new Group Management will be in place on 19 January and other changes in the organisation will be implemented by 1 April at the latest.
