Research parks

We founded Siljanfors research park in 1921.

Decor pictureTwo years later we established Kulbäcksliden and Svartberget research parks. In total, Sveaskog has allocated 8000 hectares distributed over six research parks, between Tönnersjöheden in the south (Halland) and Ätnarova in the north (Norrbotten).

Why research parks?

The purpose of the research parks is to allocate land for different types of field trials as well as to manage facilities, maintenance and the collection of data. Changes in vegetation, stands and ambient air and land conditions are studied using special programs.

Long term field trials have been fundamental to our knowledge of forests and forestry, and have been of great significance to the development of forestry techniques in Sweden.
