Peter Fredman has been engaged at ETOUR, the Mid Sweden University Campus in Östersund since 1998. He has done extensive research into outdoor pursuits, eco tourism and the experience value of nature. In 2008, he took up a professorship in eco tourism.
Three areas
In his position as professor in eco tourism, Peter will build new knowledge within three areas, consumers and markets, sustainable enterprise and nature as an experience. His research will focus on participation and demands within outdoor pursuits and eco tourism, methods for measuring numbers of visitors as well as financial analyses of nature experiences. Postgraduates and more experienced researchers will be affiliated to the research, which is being done in collaboration with the research programme, Developments in outdoor pursuits.
