Göran Ericsson - professor in wildlife and fishing tourism

The research focuses on the use of our natural resources and their natural resource use within hunting, fishing, forestry and outdoor pursuits.

Göran EricssonSince 2004, Göran Ericsson has been the assistant programme manager for the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency research programme, Adaptive management of wildlife and fish populations. He is deputy head of department at the institute for wildlife, fish and environment at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and on the board of the Centre for wildlife and fish research. Göran is also leading the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) theme research programme, Wildlife-Forest, and is one of the instigators of SLU's international masters programme Management of Fish and Wildlife.

Use of natural resources

Göran's research focuses on natural resources and on users. A significant part of it concerns the ecological connection that forms the basis of natural resource use within hunting, fishing, forestry and outdoor pursuits. An area of increasing interest is the research surrounding tracing gps-tagged animals in order to study the effects that, among other things, people presence has on them.
