Excessive use of resources combined with strong ambitions to conserve biological diversity place new demands on forestry. At the same time, climate change entails the new challenge of creating areas for plant types that relocate themselves further north. A prerequisite for sustainable use of resources is good knowledge or the forest ecosystem.
