A result of the quest to reduce dependency on oil, is that the demand for biobased raw materials is increasing. Modified wood and fibre products, and biocomposites can replace, for example, plastic products. Wood based products are already replacing plastic in some car components. The goal of the Wood and fibre research is to support development of new products based on wood raw material.
