Sveaskog’s interim report January–March 2025: Properly positioned to face an increasingly changing world

Operating profit increased by 41 per cent and amounted to MSEK 839 (593). The improvement in earnings is mainly attributable to higher timber prices. The average prices of deliveries from Sveaskog’s own forest increased by 23 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year.

Sveaskog publishes Annual and Sustainability Report for 2024

Sveaskog’s operating profit for 2024 increased by 44 per cent and amounted to MSEK 2,060 (1,429). The Board of Directors proposes that the Annual General Meeting in April resolves on a dividend to the owner, the Swedish State, of MSEK 1,203 (1,207). The market for wood raw materials, which has been favourable for several years, with record high raw materials prices, has contributed to a strong annual financial result for Sveaskog, despite lower delivered volumes.

Operating profit increased by 79 per cent during the quarter and amounted to MSEK 345 (219). The improvement in earnings is mainly a result of higher timber prices. The higher timber prices were partly offset by lower volumes from Sveaskog’s own forests and slightly increased costs for felling and forest management.

Operating profit increased by 8 per cent and amounted to MSEK 1,092 (1,011). Higher timber prices were offset by lower volumes from own forest and higher felling, nature conservation and forest management costs.

Joint pre study on sustainable transition

Boliden, Nevel, Skellefteå Kraft and Sveaskog have signed a letter of intent on a feasibility study to establish a value chain for hydrogen and biofuels in Västerbotten. In the extension, the goal is, among other things, to enable the phasing out of fossil fuel that is currently used in processes at the Rönnskär smelter.
